Hollow-cylindrical torsional shear tests were conducted in order to examine the dependency of the proposed elastic boundary from the viewpoints of stress level and cohesive material. The main results of this study are summarized as follows :
1. The effects of stress non-uniformity and the boundary conditions are irrelevant in this study.
2. There is a similar tendency in the deformation characteristics induced by the pure shear history on different stress levels and cohesive materials.
3. The proposed elastic boundary is not dependent on stress level.
4. The proposed elastic boundary is not dependent on cohesive material.
For the reasons mentioned above, it can be judged that the proposed elastic boundary is independent of stress level and cohesive material and has a wide range of applications.
