Verification of kinematic shield model for crease shield by in-situ data
The kinematic shield model had been proposed, taking account of the excavated area, the tail
clearance, the dynamic equilibrium condition, the rotation direction of cutter face, the slide of shield,
and the ground loosening at crown of shield. Farthemore, the kinematic shield model for crease
shield had been developed. But its validity is not verifieal even now.
In this research, the calculated crease shield behavior by the kinematic shield model for crease
shield is compared with the measured crease shield behavior at the curve and straight alignment. As
a result, the calculated shield behavior has a good agreement with the measured one at curve and
straight alignment. Therefore, it was made lear that the kinematic shield model for crease shield
could simulate the crease shield behavior, and the validity of the kinematic shield model for crease
shield was proved.
